The old nursery rhyme goes that "life is but a dream" as you row, row, row your boat gently down the stream. Picture yourself gentling paddling down the scenic Whanganui river with your partner or family - away from all your daily worries - and the statement does seem to ring true. In fact, it might just top that one you had about scoring the winning try for the All Blacks before riding a pegasus off into the sunset.
Grab a three-day canoe trip, including meals and accommodation, with Canoe Safaris. Pay just $935 for two adults or pay $1,560 for two adults and up to two children. Choose from one of four trip dates, all beginning on Saturday: September 29th, October 6th, October 13th, or October 20th.
Explore the beauty of Whanganui National Park with a three-day guided river trip with Canoe Safaris. Canoe Safaris has been running guided trips since 1987, so you can be sure you and those close to you will be in safe hands. With Labour Day and other long weekends coming up, this is a great chance for partners or families to spend time together in the great outdoors.
You'll have the choice of paddling in a two- or six-person canoe. The three-day trip covers 87 kilometres of the river, including the Bridge to Nowhere, coursing through the Whanganui River Valley. All you have to do is bring your sleeping bags and any other personal items (clothes, etc.) and the team at Canoe Safaris will take care of the rest. They'll provide three-course dinners, cooked breakfasts, two nights hut accommodation, as well as all the gear and guides you'll need to have fun and be safe during your three days on the water. Canoe Safaris can also provide wet suits, although the Whanganui River Valley is very sheltered, with Spring temperatures warmer than in surrounding areas.
